Hatchery
WGM's vertical integration ensures that our quality is sustained all through from egg to finished product. We import high quality hatching eggs from an International company based in the USA. The eggs are incubated and hatched at Farmers’ Hatchery Limited (FHL) in O’Meara, Arima. Our hatchery operations are maintained under strict bio-security measures, including a rigorous sanitation programme adherence to which is mandatory for all employees. During the process, the quality assurance team ensures that the eggs are maintained under optimum conditions during storage and hatching. We ensure that the selected chicks, destined for over 150 dispersed farms, are healthy, uniform in size and free from any health issues.
Farming
Our customers deserve high quality products which is why we take the relationship with our contract farmers very seriously. The farmers provide the labour and housing for the broilers while we supply the farmers with quality chicks, technical advice through industry experts and quality feed from our own feed mill. Your healthy chicken depends upon the success of the farm so we ensure that farmers are equipped with the right tools as well as top quality technical and veterinary services.
To ensure healthy farms and healthy chickens, observing strict bio-security measures are critical. A comfortable and sanitary environment, with adequate access to feed and water, is maintained to promote healthy growth of our chickens.
We ensure that our chickens are fed only natural ingredients. Our animals are never administered growth-promoting drugs, particularly and especially added hormones and steroids. Just like you, our chickens have nutritional needs that must be met for healthy growth. Our nutritionist provides advice to the farmers on proper animal diets to meet the growth standards according to the international poultry standards frameworks. Our feed is manufactured using the highest quality ingredients such as soybean meal, corn and a blend of vitamins and minerals.
Processing
Our processing plant plays a critical part in providing wholesome products which are low in fat, clean and freshly packaged.
Our HACCP and PIP systems ensure that all inputs and conditions required to supply you with better chicken, are controlled. Our plant is inspected regularly by a Veterinary Public Health representative and in their absence, our in-house quality control officers, who are certified in veterinary public health inspections. The lab technician at our on-site lab facility ensures that poultry samples are monitored daily. Controlling all inputs means that we can supply a healthier chicken, free from added hormones and steroids, to our customers at affordable prices.
